Description
The EOLE project consists in the extension of the RER E from Haussmann-Saint-Lazare station to Mantes-la-Jolie station through « La Defense » business district and Nanterre. The line will go through a new 8-km tunnel between Haussmann-Saint-Lazare and La Défense. After exiting the tunnel in Nanterre, the line will join the existing tracks connecting Paris-Saint-Lazare to Mantes–la–Jolie through Poissy. The central section is sized for 28 trains per hour to have a sufficient margin for future mobility evolution.
This rail connection relies especially on a new-generation rolling stock (RER NG) and on the deployment of a new operation system, Nexteo between Nanterre-La- Folie and Évangile-Rosa Parks stations. The commissioning is planned in 2022 for Haussmann Saint-Lazare/ Nanterre la Folie line section and in 2024 for the whole line to Mantes la Jolie.
