Project's description
Taoyuan Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) is a rapid transit system serving the Taoyuan City area in Taiwan. The final network will consist of five lines (Blue Line / Orange Line / Brown Line / Green Line / Purple Line). The Green Line starts in the Bade District on Jieshou Road and crosses Taoyuan Railway Station, to head along Taoyuan District Zhongzheng Road, Luzhu District Zhongzheng N. Road, Provincial Highway 4, and turns on Kengguo Road before linking with Airport Access MRT Station A11. Moreover, the route diverges from Station G14 and goes west, and connects with Airport Access MRT Station A16.
The Green Line features 21 stations, 10 of which are underground and 11 of which are elevated, and is 27.8kmlong. A modern Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) solution, including Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO) and Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) is proposed to allow for minimum train headway and maximum efficiency in trains’ operations. A state-of-the-art Interlocking (IXL) system will also be deployed to maximize this efficiency.
Scope of work
In this context, CERTIFER is involved as an Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) to check for the compliance of the Specific Application of the CBTC and IXL solutions that are proposed with CENELEC standards (EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129). The interfaces with SCADA, PSD and the rolling stock are also included in CERTIFER’s scope of works.
