Project's description
The Bretagne-Pays-de-Loire (BPL) High Speed Line (HSL) project is the extension towards Rennes and Nantes of the Paris-Connerré HSL commissioned in 1989. The project objective was to significantly improve length of travel time and service of Bretagne and Pays-de-Loire French regions.
The BPL Project consisted of a main section of 182-km double track line between Connerré and Cesson-Sévigné, with 6 connections to the French network totalling 36km of double tracks and 2 single-track connections at la Milesse and Conneré. The main section was electrified to 25kV – 50Hz and is equipped with GSM-R, ETCS L2 and TVM 300 (French Class B System). Passenger and Freight traffic sections are equipped with ETCS L1 as well to allow freight trains operating at 100kph.
Scope of work
In this context, CERTIFER was involved as a Notified Body to check for compliance with the following TSIs: Infrastructure, Control-Command and Signalling, Energy and Safety in Railway Tunnels. CERTIFER was also involved as French “OQA” (now replaced by DeBo and AsBo service) to check for overall safety and compliance with French Technical Rules, and for global consistency at system-level.
